Bengt Magnusson, died 1294, knight and lawman.

Bengt Magnusson belonged to the so-called lawman branch of the Folkunga family and was possibly a nephew of Birger Jarl. He was a lawman in Östergötland and participated i.a. in Alsnö meeting and was part of Magnus Ladulå's council.

Bengt Magnusson became in his second marriage to Sigrid "the beautiful" grandfather of the holy Birgitta. Sigrid "the fair" was a low-born woman on the fringes of the Sparr family. Already in the 15th century, the marriage gave rise to the romantic but mostly obviously untrue story which, through Frans Hedberg's play from 1865, became known as "The Wedding at Ulfåsa".

The wedding at Ulfåsa, which is a play in four acts, was performed for the first time on April 1 at the Royal Grand Theater in Stockholm. As the subject of the play, the author has chosen a dispute between Birger Jarl and his brother. The play was a great success and received thunderous applause from the audience.
