NOTE:  The 31 Oct 1989 Ancestral File indicates that William was buried May
1670.  His death date is given in some references as 9 May 1678.

NOTE:  "Lt. William Pratt and Elizabeth Clark were found among the first
settlers of Hartford, Conn. in the year 1639.  Supposed to have accompanied
Rev. Thomas Hooker and his congregation, about 100 in number, from Newton, now
called Cambridge, Mass. through dense wilderness and became the first founders
of the colony at Hartford in June 1636.
  "This ancient pilgrim, William Pratt, was a member of the Legislature for
some 25-30 sessions and the general court gave him 100 acres of land in
Saybrook, Conn. for services performed in the Pequot War.  He was one of the
judges of the first court in New London, Conn."
