Nikolai, Spandau, Brandenburg, Preussen, Germany parish records, FHL 1,271,066, p. 410, index, vol. 3, pg. 44.  Also, FHL 1,271,037, p. 44 (end), which is son's marriage record.  He has one older son (according the the marriage entry, GWR is the 2nd son) than our direct-line ancestor, Gottfried Wilhelm REDEL.  See notes of his son, Gottfried Wilhelm.

OCCUPATION:  Journeuman mason.  At the time of his son's marriage, he was a journeyman

LOCALITY:  Wittenberg was formerly located in the Kingdom of Saxony.  In 1815, the Congress of Vienna stipulated that portions of Saxony be given to Preußen (Prussia), which portions thus became the Sachsen Provinz of Preußen. Wittenberg was in one of these areas.  In the marriage record of this person's son, this person was listed as being from "Wittenberg in Sachsen," so this would have, at this time, been within "Königreich Sachsen," the Kingdom of Saxony.
