- Entries from Updike's History of St. Paul's Narragansett Church Records:
Feb. 16, 1726/27, Capt. Jonathan Dickinson, s. of Sam & Mary Dickinson, was
bapt. by Mr. McSparran, Nov 2, 1729 (II:490). Christopher Dickinson, s. of
Sam & Mary was bapt by Mr. Mcspararan at St. Paul's in Narragansett, 2 Nov
1728. Said Mary Dickinson was wife of Jonathan Dickinson, after whose
demise she incestuously contracted marriage with Sam, brother of said
Jonathan, and said Christopher is child of the incesjuous conjunction, but
having unexceptionable sponsors was bapt. as aforesaid (Updike, II, 500).
- Wm. Cole of No. Kingstown, R.I., b. 1671, d. 1734; md. Ann Pinder (dau. of
Jacob Pinder). In his will dated 17 Sep 1734, he bequeathed to his dau.

Samuel's children were sealed to his brother Jonathan and to their mother, Mary
Cole, approved by Robert D. Young, Pres. of Salt Lake Temple,

NOTE: According to the IGI, Samuel was also baptized on 9 Jul 1986 DA and
endowed on 12 Jul 1986 DA.
NOTE: The 31 Oct 1989 Ancestral File gives Samuel's birthplace as "prob.
Jamestown, Rhode Island" and his death place as ", Dutchess, New York."
