-- The births appear to begin in the last part of the book.  See K beginning p. 227 of Těchonice v. 5, index.  Checked for kids in Těchonice index.  Recorded a bunch, but want to check for marriage in index first.  Didn't find in index for Těchonice, so am checking for Hradešice.  The problem is that 1784 seems to be missing from the indexes.  May need to do a line by line search for this one.  It seems that Těchonice broke off from Hradešice and became its own parish in around 1792.  Actually, v. 10 of Hradešice appears to be marriages and index including 1784.  Will first check indexes v. 17 and 18 to see if I can find their marriage.  Then I'll get v. 10, which includes marriages and index for 1783-1814.  Didn't find any marriage for a Matěj Kudrna either under Kudrna or Škudrna.  I'm really getting tired of elusive marriages.  I don't think I've found one in two days in the archives.  I'm almost wondering, because of the dearth of Kudrna's found suddenly in Hradešice, as compared with Těchonice, if Ujčín actually didn't belong to Hradešice, but another parish before 1792, even though Těchonice itself was formerly a part of Hradešice.  Don't know of any other source to check this.  Will try to find kids of Matěj and Barbara in Těchonice, SRE, 17 Sep 2003.

-- Did find a death of an Eva Kušová in Ujčín in 1762, p. 564.  Should look that up, as well as looking for marriage of Jakob Kuš in 1762.  If Jacob married Terezie, there would be a 3 year gap between the date of his last child's birth with his first wife, and his first child with his second wife.  Unfortunately, his possible second marriage is not in the index.  So he probably went to his new wife's parish.  We don't know therefore, which, if any (Kateřina or Terezie) became his new wife.  Is it possible that Kateřina and Terezie are just one person, the priest using two different names?  Without a marriage, though I don't feel safe about going back, if there were possibly two Jozef's having kids about the same time.  How would I know which one was correct?  There may be births of Kuš in the 1730's when he was born.  I won't check for now, though, SRE 17 Sep 2003.

-- As far as his birth, I found a Jan Jakub born the year of his estimated birth date, from Skránčice.  There were no other Jan Moutvic during this period.  However, since the begining of the volume I searched was only 1720, earlier births should be checked, to make sure there are no other Jan Moutvic's born to fathers, František in this parish.  Try to narrow this down to Skránčice, if possible, SRE 24 Sep 2003.

Marie married ⁴ Ján Jakub MOUTVIC on 29 Sep 1749 in Plánice (Plánice parish), Klatovy, Čechy, Česká republika.

-- Began searching manually (no index) from 1742 in v. 1, of Zdebořice, beginning around p. 190, forward.  I will check from 1737-1749.  If not found, I will work on this line later.  Also, re-do the search, including all the localities in the parish.  Checked 1742-1749, no Marx in Zdebořice.  Looked back through 1737.  Could also check later index and see if there are Marx families, and if so, which town they are in, if not Zdebořice.  Found a Joseph. Marx b. 1763 p. 2, another child. p. 3 in 1664, both illegit, Francisca Marxová p. 79 in 1768, Maria Joanna Clara Marxová (our first one that we have record of), Anna Jos. Petron. p. 102 (also ours).  I checked illegitimate children, who are listed after the index in the back.  "Hradecensis" in Latin was the place the lady came from, who had the illegitimate children:  Maria Magdalena Marxová, and she had two children by Martin Gerwenej (possible declensional ending on end of last name).  Other child was the first.  Josephus marxs bap. 20 apr 1763 and Procopius (pretty clear) on 5 July 1764.  Did the Marx family come from Hradešice?, SRE 19 Sep 2003.

-- Found him on the Internet as being a teacher at Zdebořice and taking in many students from the surrounding area into his own home to teach for 16 years.  Here is the story and a translation:

Kdy přesnì vznikla škola ve Zdebořicích není možné zjistit, protože při požáru v roce 1754 vyhořel kostel i škola a všechny knihy byly zničeny. Na novou školu nebyly peníze, a tak se vyučovalo v soukromé chalupì. V roce 1774 byl ustanoven učitelem ve škole Ondřej Václav Marx ze Zdebořic, který vyučoval ve vlastní chalupì. Ke škole byly přiškoleny obce: Zdebořice, Číhaň, Nový Dvůr, Křížovice, Bystré, Kocourov, Lhůta a Chlistov. Nová školní budova byla postavena až v roce 1790 a zapsáno bylo 115 žáků. V roce 1794 byla vyškolena obec Chlistov a v roce 1816 obce Kocourov a Lhůta. She was christened ⁵ on 09 Dec 1745 in Radinovy (Týnec parish), Klatovy, Čechy, Česká republika. Maria married ^{6, 7} Ondřej Václav MARX on 15 Nov 1768 in Běšiny (Běšiny parish), Klatovy, Čechy, Česká republika.

LOG/NOTES:
-- Birth of daughter, Maria Johanna Clara, mentioned in research report dated 26 Mar 1997, p. 2, interprets that this person (Maria KOPECZKA) was: "z Radinow (=Radějov)," or "from Radinowy (=Radějov).  This would appear to be an error on the part of the archivist.  There are indeed two occurrences of Radějov in Bohemia, but one is in Pelhřimov judicial district, east of Tabor. The other is in Kralivice judicial district, northeast of Plzeň.  They are possibilities, but not good ones.  It is far more likely that the town from the records is Radinovy, Týnec parsh, which is much closer to Zdebořice parish.
